I have been using Advantix for 14 years now and have found nothing better. Have compared it to cheaper store brands and to Frontline, but the Advantix works best. My outside dogs are not bothered by fleas, ticks or even flies. I have read some poor reviews on this product, but neither of my dogs have ever experienced any side effects to Advantix, even when they were young. It seems that when I used Frontline in the past, the directions said to put the entire contents of the tube in one spot between the shoulder blades, whereas Advantix specifically states to disperse in four areas from the shoulders to the base of the tail. We used the Frontline version at Costco, and it seemed like there was little to no effect. A few weeks later, we tried tried Advantix II and within 24 hours, there was no more scratching.
