This is *better* than the brand-name product. It works exactly as well as the brand-name (which is to say it works great, exactly as advertised), but instead of being a pill that you must convince your pet to swallow it's a capsule with little granules. You can open the capsule and sprinkle it on the pet's food. I've tried crushing the brand-name pill and sprinkling that but apparently that makes the food taste nasty, as the food then goes uneaten...but sprinkling *this* stuff works every time!If all that isn't enough, this comes at a fraction of the cost of the brand-name stuff. No matter how you look at it, it's a win! I read the other reviews I was skeptical, I will tell you this I gave my boxer 1 pill as directed by the instructions the fleas started moving and jumping off him in less than 20 minutes and the ones that were still on him were going crazy or already dead, the only side affect once the fleas started moving he was going in circles rubbing to try to stop the itching for about 15 minutes. An hour later I laid him on his back and could not find a live one on him. He is 10 years old and never had fleas till friday, before the pill I did the flea shampoo's bought Bio spot which is garbage after he came out of the tub I put the bio spot on him treated and changed all bedding, treated the couches chairs and his pet beds and rugs he lays on treated the floors with a flea spray. The next morning he went out to go pee he came in and was covered with fleas again I went to the local pet store they suggested a spray that could be used and would not affect the bio spot called de flea, garbage I... This is the worst flea season we have ever had. Our outside pets have been coated and the inside pets have had a few, which has not happened in at least 12 years. We have tried the expensive vet prescribed stuff, local pet store stuff, and every home remedy I could find on the net. THIS KILLED THE FLEAS WHEN NOTHING ELSE WOULD! We use it with Little City Dogs Flea Control and Diatemaceous Earth (in the yard and house) as well as planting rosemary, lavendar, mint, citronella, and using cedar chips for mulch. I actually caught some fleas, put them in containers with Sevin and other flea insecticide sprays with ingredients equal to Frontline and Advantage... they survived! It was a wonderful feeling after giving my babies this product to actually witness the fleas dying on my 3 cats and 5 dogs.
