Fiproguard Fiproguard Topical Flea and Tick for Cats, All Weights Reviews
10 of 10 people found the following review helpful Hooray! It works!, This review is from: Fiproguard Fiproguard Topical Flea and Tick for Cats, All Weights (Misc.) I'll admit it...I'm frugal. When my kitty started scratching and I noticed fleas (for the first time in her 16 years!) I researched flea meds are was COMPLETELY shocked at the price! I found this seemingly too good to be true Fiproguard for a fraction of the price of the best reviwed products. I was sceptical, of course, but after some research I found out why it was so cheap! Fiproguard is the "generic" formula of Frontline. I ordered a box, and 2 days later I applied the med to kitty. The application was easy, but the med did smell rather medicinal and seemed oily. From other reviews, it seems this is normal though. By the end of the day, kitty was scratching less. By the end of the second day, I didn't see any more fleas on her! After a good brushing, I found many dead fleas on her, but zero living ones. It's now been 3 weeks and kitty is still free from fleas and stopped scratching. I'm thrilled that a product worked so well for such a decent price! 9 of 10 people found the following review helpful This is Generic Frontline and You Need a Mosquito repellent for the dog., By AndreStefan (USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Fiproguard Fiproguard Topical Flea and Tick for Cats, All Weights (Misc.) First---the price of Frontline-the original Fipronil-is obscene, especially in a multi-cat household. Second, there's something wrong with Frontline's formulation. Vets and friends agree that Frontline no longer works, but the generic Fiprogard does. Frontline is produced in France by Merial. After two years of fighting fleas with cat baths, bombing, and Frontline applications, we disovered the generic works. Try Fiproguard if Frontline has failed you.WHAT TO DO ABOUT A FLEA INFESTATION: The house should be HOT because fleas will go dormant in the cold. VACUUM the entire house, especially around the edges. The vibration of the vacuum with cause the flea eggs to hatch. Then treat the area with a spray product from your vet. Then vacuum again and again. Repeat. In the meantime, you need to bathe the cats before they are allowed into the vacummed areas. I will never attempt this again--bathing FIVE cats? oh my gosh, what a horror. Regarding DOGS--dont' use... I have been using Fiproguard Plus for all of our cats and dogs which are outside and inside since the generic came out. I can tell no difference in this vs Frontline Plus. It has controlled fleas and ticks on all 5 animals perfectly. You have to get the solution on the skin or it will not work. I squeeze it on then scratch it in with my fingernails and they never even know they have medicine on! It is perfect and the price is even more perfect compared to the name brand. |
