We had a lot of cockroaches. A lot. It was disgusting. Apparently, they were in the walls, and other condos had problems with them as well. We started out only lightly dusting the Diatomaceous Earth through the kitchen, which is where the biggest problem was. A few weeks went by, and no doubt, some of them were dead. You can tell they were dehydrated. At one point, my boyfriend saw one of them stumbling as if it were drunk, covered in white powder. I knew it was working. We had to sweep them away constantly. But, did they all die? No. We started sprinkling more and more. At one point, the little kitchen was covered in white.

It's very eco-friendly, which is why I tried it. The dog and cat didn't go near it, but it didn't affect them. My boyfriend, who has severe allergies, wasn't affected by it as well. My first attempt at a container garden. I raised the plants from seeds (which I have never done before) and they grew!! So you can imagine my heart-break when I put them out only to find them almost gone overnight :( Peppers, broccoli and my beans too, almost all gone.... It wasn't until I caught them (the pests) in the act did I know what was eating my plants. The varmints were what looked like snails but no shells. I read about this stuff and tried it on the dirt of the plants being eaten..... It worked, it really worked. The plants started growing new growth and are doing fantastic now. It can't hurt for you to try it. Not sure what other pests it works on, but it worked on the slugs and worms.

Okay, so normally the thought of feeding a form of insectide to my animals would send me straight to the funny farm. I am a chemical free junky. I make my own cleaners because I can't stand the chemicals from store bought ones, I won't even cook with Crisco because it is just synthetic junk. So I seriously could not believe that I agreed to feed one of these pills to my animals. However, there comes a time in ones life where a certain proverbial line must be drawn. And to tell you the truth, my little guys were miserable before using this product. I have two large dogs and two large cats, so I used two different types of Capstar pills, one for over 25 pounds and one for smaller animals. We keep Capstar on-hand at all times for our lab! If we go to the vet, the groomer, the dog park -- chances are, she's picked up some fleas. This stuff will kill them all within 15 minutes or so! It's not a replacement for preventative treatment, but it definitely helps to use this when needed!

I am not only a pet lover, I am an animal rescuer.... for 38 years. If you have used Capstar before, then you know what the product is for and what you will pay for it at your Vet. I'm not knocking vets, but I really apprecaite the price. I have been using Advantix for 14 years now and have found nothing better. Have compared it to cheaper store brands and to Frontline, but the Advantix works best. My outside dogs are not bothered by fleas, ticks or even flies. I have read some poor reviews on this product, but neither of my dogs have ever experienced any side effects to Advantix, even when they were young. It seems that when I used Frontline in the past, the directions said to put the entire contents of the tube in one spot between the shoulder blades, whereas Advantix specifically states to disperse in four areas from the shoulders to the base of the tail. I wonder if some people are putting all of it in one spot and that is causing irritation?

I had a flea infestation in my house and on my dog. I used Frontline, bombed the house, and have been vacuuming daily. I could see a few dead fleas that fell off my dog after the first 24 hours of Frontline and was waiting for more to die off but that wasn't the case. I followed the instructions exactly, but after the first 3.5 weeks the problem seemed to get worse. I was using Capstar in addition to kill off the adults, but it seemed they kept appearing! I read that Frontline has become less effective in the past few years and that seems to be true. I read some reviews on Advantix II and decided to try that for the second month. I know it takes three months to break a flea cycle but this seems to have worked after the first week! I gave him Advantix II and a Capstar the first day and I haven't seen a flea since. This stuff is AMAZING and my frustrating is slowly dwindling away. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON FRONTLINE!!
