| 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful  don't listen to the other guy!, This review is from: Pronyl OTC 45 to 88-Pound Dog Flea and Tick Sqz-On Flea and Tick Remedy, 3-Count (Misc.) ask your vet and read the info. pronyl otc plus has: fipronil- 9.8% and (S)-methoprene- 8.8%, just like the big name brand. neither will keep ticks off. what each will do is kill the ticks and-somehow prevent diseases that they carry. they kill fleas and prevent the eggs from later infestations. i've used this and frontline plus, there is no noticable difference. my vet said to make sure that the above ingredients are there in proper doses. she lookede at the product and said that it was the same and fine. then added that the price saves you money. so, ask your vet [just give the office a call] and remember: these do not keep ticks off your dog... they poison the tick! i could, just as easily have given the product 5 stars. but i don't like that my dog needs to stay dry [no bath] for 48 hours before and after application. if your dog gets rained on about 24 hours after application that's fine; or so, i was told by the frontline phone operators not the pronyl plus people... After dealing with ticks on our dogs ( as many as four a day)Pronyl appears to be a fantastic product.We have been loyal to Frontline for years but the cost is just too high when you have to care for four dogs. I wish there was a workable solution other than a pesticide but it is what it is I guess. I can't say enough about the value of Pronyl - even our vet had to admit it is a quality product. He still tried to sell us his European imported solution but I guess they want a cut of the market also.
