Frontline is one of the better products available for this purpose. I've tried other solutions - flea collars, products from other sources, and have only found one other item that matches the Frontline effectiveness for eliminating fleas. Within a day of the first use, the cats had stopped scratching and licking incessantly at their fleas. One of my cats is particularly allergic to fleas, and breaks out with sores at the flea bites - for him, Frontline is nothing short of a miracle. I have known cats to have serious reactions to the flea drops from some companies. My cats have had absolutely no bad reactions to the Frontline applications. Frontline Plus for cats is not a cheap product, but it is very effective for keeping ticks and fleas off of your cat, and the best I've seen on the market. Your cat will thank you! As for price, Amazon's has gotten a bit steep and there are better deals available elsewhere, particularly if you buy in quantity--which is okay since the stuff has a long shelf life. You just want to be careful to apply the product to the skin on the back of your cat's neck, out of his/her reach. You also want to be careful to avoid touching the product. The applicator is easy to use. They give you handy stickers to keep track on your calendar of when to use the product again. If your cat has trouble sitting still during the application, it's a good idea to work with a partner so that one of you can hold the cat gently and the other can apply the product. This stuff works every time and they don't come back as long as I make sure that I treat him regularly. He is a big cat and he loves to roll around in the grass and dirt every chance he gets so keeping him pest free was a challenge until I started using Frontline.
